Subject: | PA Income Tax Checkoff for Cystic Fibrosis (HB 274 of 2011-12 Session) |
I am re-introducing legislation to amend the Tax Reform Code of 1971. This legislation will require the Department to provide a space on the Pennsylvania individual income tax return form whereby an individual may voluntarily contribute part or all of his tax refund to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs and pancreas of individuals and eventually leads to more complex complications. It affects about 30,000 Americans, most being diagnosed by age three. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is committed to funding both medical research, in order to cure and control the disease, and care programs to improve the length and quality of life for those living with cystic fibrosis.
