| Subject: | Digital Mental Health Services Pilot Program |
| I plan to introduce legislation creating the digital mental health services pilot program in the Department of Education (PDE). As policymakers, it is important that we recognize the role schools can play in helping to support their students’ mental health needs. Specifically, my legislation would require PDE to select an evidence-based digital mental health service platform to provide mental health services for students. PDE will select up to 50 school entities to participate in the program. A school entity that participates in the program will receive a grant from PDE to provide mental health services to students through the approved digital platform. The mental health services provided to students through the digital platform are voluntary and the student must first obtain their parent or guardian’s consent before receiving any services.
