Accounting Operations

The Accounting Operations staff is responsible for pre-auditing all payments made from any appropriation of the Senate. This includes all member expenses as well as accounts payable to vendors. This office also provides Senate account analysis and budget projections.

Personnel

Personnel is responsible for the administration of all health benefits provided to employees of the Senate as well as Workers' Compensation, Group Life insurance, and eligibility for retiree benefits. Personnel also prepares and processes the payrolls for all employees of the Senate.

Facilities Management

Facilities Management is responsible for the management of the physical space of the Senate offices. This includes HVAC, fire safety, furniture, fixtures & equipment, and custodial operations. The staff are located in the Senate Chamber and assist with session operations.

Commonwealth Mail Processing Center and Senate Mail Room

The Commonwealth Mail Processing Center (CMPC) receives and performs a security scan of all incoming mail, overnight packages, and parcels. The Senate Mail Room distributes incoming mail received from the CMPC and provides outgoing mailing services for member offices.

Purchasing

Purchasing is responsible for the acquisition of furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and services for all Capitol offices. The department includes Senate Receiving, the Store Room, and Inventory Management of fixed assets.

Broadcast Television Operations

The Senate creates a broadcast television feed of all Senate legislative sessions and select committee meetings for distribution to cable networks and each Caucus for live streaming on their respective web site. In addition, the Senate maintains a Video Facility which is used by each Caucus to create short programs used for communication with constituents.

Telecommunications

Senate Telecommunications is responsible for operation of the Senate telephone systems in the Capitol and district offices. This office also performs IT duties for staff of the Chief Clerk and Secretary.
