AN ACT
Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, in rates and distribution systems,
further providing for valuation of acquired water and
wastewater systems.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1329(c) of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding paragraphs to read:
ยง 1329. Valuation of acquired water and wastewater systems.

(c) Ratemaking rate base.--The following apply:

(3) The depreciated original cost of the acquired system
as calculated under subsection (d)(5) may be incorporated

entity's initial tariff filing.
(4) The
difference
between the
depreciated
original
cost calculated under subsection (d)(5) and the ratemaking
rate base of the selling utility as determined under
paragraph (2) shall be incorporated into the rate base of the
acquiring public utility equally over the three base rate
cases after closing or in the entity's first three base rate
cases after its initial tariff filing.

Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
